The “Hide Matching Areas” menu item has a checkmark at the left side which identifies the current state. This checkmark can be toggled on and off by executing this menu item or by using the F7 function key.
When active, only difference sections and a configurable number of Margin Lines around them are shown. Matching (identical) areas in the middle of the file are hidden.
