Diffoniq is distributed as a free evaluation version. You may evaluate the
fully functional program; an unlicensed copy shows an evaluation reminder and an
"UNLICENSED EVALUATION VERSION" title bar, and what leaves the machine
says so too: exported reports end with
“Generated by Diffoniq 2.0 evaluation version — diffoniq.com”
(JSON: "licensed": false) and printouts
carry the same line in their page footer. Nothing is held back or watermarked
beyond that line, and a licensed copy writes no such line at all.
The reminder is skipped when Diffoniq is started as another program’s diff
viewer — that is, with two paths on the command
line, as git difftool, TortoiseGit/TortoiseSVN, Total Commander
or WinSCP call it. Those tools wait for Diffoniq to close, so the comparison
opens right away and closing it returns to the calling program without a further
dialog. The title bar still shows the evaluation state.
Buying a license removes the evaluation reminder and registers the program to
you or your organization. A license is a small signed text block (delivered as a
diffoniq.lic file) tied to your name — it is not bound to a
specific machine, so you can move it between computers.
Open Help → License… in Diffoniq and either:
diffoniq.lic file you received, orYou can also drop a diffoniq.lic file onto the Diffoniq window, or place
it in your per-user Diffoniq settings folder so it is picked up automatically.
A portable installation looks for
diffoniq.lic next to its diffoniq.ini first, so the
license travels with the folder.
An imported license (file, paste, or drop) is saved to your settings folder automatically, so it stays installed after a restart.
Your license block names the type you bought, using the same words as the order page:
| Single | For one user. |
| Site | For an organization; the Seats line states the
number of seats covered, or Unlimited. |
Choose Buy… in the License dialog, or visit the Diffoniq website for current pricing and ordering.
